Napa to fix sections of Soscol, Trower avenues, other streets during 2021-22 [Napa Valley Register, Calif.] Dec. 18 Three major streets and a busy intersection in the city of Napa are slated for improvements starting next summer, despite recent funding cuts in a pandemic-pinched budget. Napa is on track to refurbish parts of Soscol Avenue, Trower Avenue, Trancas Street and two streets in the Westwood neighborhood during the 2021-22 fiscal year, the city Public Works department told the City Council on Tuesday. Also on the city’s list of projects to be paid for with county sales-tax revenue is the replacement of traffic signals at Lincoln Avenue and Main Street, a hub between downtown and the commercial strips of Soscol and Jefferson Street.

Idaho Falls leaders to approve a contractor for new splash pad IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (KIFI/KIDK) -  A new splash pad could be coming to Idaho Falls.   A contractor is set to be approved to build the splash pad at the Reinhart Park at Thursday s City Council meeting after months of discussing and looking at bids to build a splash pad. Stratton and Bratt, a construction company based in Pleasant Grove, Utah, was chosen to design and construct the pad at Reinhart Park.    The splash pad would be built were the old swimming pool was in the Reinhart park, which is just off Grandview Drive near the airport.

Couple found shot to death in La Mesa home identified -

LA MESA (KUSI) – Authorities Tuesday evening identified the couple found shot to death in a murder-suicide inside of a home in an unincorporated area near La Mesa. Deputies responded to a home in the 4900 block of Resmar Road, north of Grandview Drive, about 12:30 p.m. Tuesday to check the welfare of the couple after a family member became concerned after not hearing from them in several days, according to Lt. Thomas Seiver of the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. Deputies entered the residence and found 72-year-old Judith Ann Caruthers and 74-year-old Herman Hull Caruthers both dead from gunshot wounds to the head, Seiver said.

Couple died in homicide-suicide in Mount Helix home, Sheriff s Department says

EAST COUNTY    A couple found shot to death Monday inside their Mount Helix home died in a homicide-suicide committed by the husband, the Sheriff’s Department said. Based on autopsies conducted Tuesday, investigators believe Herman Hull Caruthers Jr., 74, shot and killed his wife, 72-year-old Judith Ann Caruthers, before turning the gun on himself, according to sheriff’s homicide Lt. Thomas Seiver. Authorities did not say when they believe the shooting happened. Deputies discovered the couple’s bodies Monday afternoon in their home on Resmar Road off Grandview Drive after a concerned family member reported being unable to contact the pair for several days.
