GRAND FORKS, ND – Nick Strong and Garret Hill each doubled and drove in two runs Sunday as the Pierre Trappers stopped the Wheat City Whiskey Jacks 7-3 at Kraft Field in the final game before the Expedition League’s All-Star break.
Strong hit his two-run double and Hill followed with an RBI double to snap a 1-1 tie in the top of the third and give the Trappers (14-32) a lead they would not relinquish.
Brandt Sundeen (1-3) struck out nine in seven innings while allowing three runs and six hits.
The Expedition League All-Star Game will be played Tuesday at Mike Lansing Field in Casper, Wyoming. The Trappers will next play Thursday against the Mining City Tommyknockers in Butte, Montana.
A dozen or more lights have been dark during Whiskey Jacks games.

Q: At Whiskey Jacks games, it s obvious a number of overhead lights are not working at Kraft Field – as many as a dozen or more. Whose responsibility is that? The team s or the city s? And if it falls to the city, can this be fixed soon, or is there an upkeep schedule that is maintained at Kraft Field?
The Whiskey Jacks, a team playing in the summer collegiate Expedition League, have so far played a half-dozen games at Kraft Field in Grand Forks, their home for the summer of 2021.
Will just 1% of the community’s residents attend Whiskey Jacks games this summer?
We’re hoping so, since we see summer baseball as a quality-of-life perk, in the same vein as parks, walking trails and other outdoors activities.
SIOUX FALLS – Grand Forks, North Dakota will host an Expedition League expansion team in 2022.
The team, which will play at Kraft Field, will bring the Expedition League lineup to 13 teams. The 12th, the Mining City Tommyknockers, will begin play this season in Butte, Montana.

Kraft Field is an outstanding ballpark and a great venue for Expedition League baseball. We anticipate some incredible ballpark enhancemen
