With the lifting of the COVID-19 restrictions, officials in charge of the Pequot Lakes graduation ceremony are walking back some changes and limitations for the Friday, May 28, event.
“No limits on attendance, no masks, no social distancing,” Pequot Lakes High School principal Aaron Nelson said.
The plan is still for the ceremony to take place on the Pequot Lakes football field at 7 p.m., but the backup plan in the event of bad weather is now to conduct a more traditional ceremony with the Class of 2021’s 136 graduates in the Patriot Athletic Center, as in the years before the COVID-19 pandemic.
BHS prom postponed to late May: COVID-19 quarantines on the rise in schools
Prom will now take place May 22, the day after graduation, and the last day of in-person classes for seniors will be moved up three days. These changes will allow for a 10-day quarantine period if needed between in-person classes and graduation, to ensure as many seniors as possible can participate. 10:37 pm, Apr. 12, 2021 ×
