Bad Astronomy | Double quasars can be found in a new way

Generically, such an object is called an active galaxy . If one of those beams happens to be pointed at Earth, we can see lots of light from across almost the entire electromagnetic spectrum, from radio waves to X-rays. Kornmesser, adapted by Phil Plait We know that there are extremely massive black holes out there which may have grown to such enormous size when two big galaxies merge. The black holes fall toward each other, eventually orbiting each other and then, after billions of years, they can merge together into one bigger black hole. This implies we should find binary supermassive black holes, or at least two that are close together (say, within a few thousand light years of each other). However very few are seen, mainly because they re hard to discover.

Diamonds net - GIA Now Giving Details of Lab-Grown Treatments

RAPAPORT. The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) has started providing specific information on post-growth treatments for synthetic diamonds, marking the latest shift in its approach to the category. The institute’s Laboratory-Grown Diamond Reports now say if there is evidence of a treatment to change the color of a stone, or if there is no evidence, a GIA spokesperson told Rapaport News Monday. Some stones carry the comment: “Whether this man-made diamond has been treated is currently undeterminable.” Previously, all reports included a generic statement that the lab-grown diamond “may” have been treated. The changes went into effect in early March. The reports will continue to state the growth type: chemical vapor deposition (CVD) or High Pressure-High Temperature (HPHT).

CAC 2000 banks on new operating system

CAC 2000 CEO Gia Abraham. CAC 2000 Limited says it will introduce a new operating system to eke out more efficiencies and reduce costs, as it works to recover to pre-COVID revenue levels.  The Industrial air conditioning company will implement a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tool in April. It is expected to improve the operational efficiency of CAC through the streamlining of processes, CEO Gia Abraham said in remarks attached to the company’s first-quarter results.  “We expect that the system will provide more insight and help CAC to focus on improving its operational effectiveness in areas such as inventory days (169 PY vs. 180 LY) and days trade payables (105 vs. 122 LY) and improve our combined cash cycle,” Abraham said.
