Apple Fitness+ introduces new workouts, trainers, and Time to Walk guest
Apple Fitness+, the first fitness service built around Apple Watch, is introducing even more ways to make fitness welcoming and inclusive to all with brand new workouts geared specifically toward pregnancy and older adults, as well as several new Yoga, High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT), and Strength workouts for beginners. These workouts are designed to help users build confidence working out, no matter their fitness level, whether just starting out, trying something new, or getting back into exercise for the first time in a long time.
Fitness+ is also expanding its team of world-class trainers, introducing a new Yoga and Mindful Cooldown trainer, Jonelle Lewis, in addition to welcoming current Fitness+ trainer Anja Garcia to the HIIT team. San Jose scrambles to respond to attacks on elderly Asian Americans

San Jose lawmakers took steps this week to deter hate crimes and protect would-be victims after a string of seemingly xenophobic attacks targeting Asian American elders around the Bay Area hit close to home just before Lunar New Year.
Elected officials, including members of the California Asian Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus and the Alameda County District Attorney’s Office, responded with plans to reintroduce a 2017 bill to establish a statewide hate crimes hotline and form a special response unit focused on crimes against Asians.

Allright Ladder has been making wooden ladders in Vancouver for a century. But on Oct. 31, they stopped.
“To me a wooden ladder is the best ladder you could ever want,” said Jim Norris, who co-owns Allright Ladder with Stuart Evans. “But it’s used by a certain (older)-age demographic. Young people have no idea what a wood ladder is. They go to the Home Depot and buy a fibreglass ladder when they have to be non-conductive or an aluminum ladder if they don’t have to be.”

If you’re in any doubt as to just how much the at-home fitness revolution has dominated 2020, then you’ve clearly never tried to buy a pair of dumbbells. Toilet paper, fancy pasta shapes and even Sony’s PlayStation 5 have all been available in bountiful quantities when compared to these weights once gyms and fitness studios closed their doors about nine months ago. From YouTube to TikTok, trainers took their talents online and a whole lot of us have been tuning in and scrambling to get hold of the necessary training kit ever since. So it’s perhaps no great surprise to see Apple join the fray this month with Fitness+.
