Royals intensity too much for lackadaisical Cougars

Royals intensity too much for lackadaisical Cougars SHARE ON: (Photo credit Paige Bednorz) The Prince George Cougars might want to show up an hour earlier than normal the next time they line up against the Victoria Royals. Another slow start for the Cats proved costly on Saturday as they fell 2-1 in Kelowna to the BC Division’s last place team for a third time this season. Cougars Head Coach and General Manager Mark Lamb didn’t mince words on the lackadaisical effort. “We played the same way as we practiced yesterday (Friday). It has a lot to do with the mindset, digging in and playing real hard. We probably got a little too happy with the way we have been playing as of late.”

HARTLEY S HART ATTACK – (Big crowds to wait until 2022?) May 7, 2021 EDITION 835

HARTLEY’S HART ATTACK – (Big crowds to wait until 2022?) May 7, 2021 EDITION 835 SHARE ON: The return of a full house of roughly 6,000 people at CN Centre for a WHL game or another major entertainment event appears to still be many months away. It is reasonable to suggest, with most of the B.C. population vaccinated by some point this summer, (currently there are 2,000,000 adults that have been inoculated) the PG Cougars will be allowed to have some fans at their home games for the 2021-22 season, which is expected to start in October. The question though is how many will be allowed into the building?

Prince George Free Press » Reba showed why she s queen of country

She had them from ‘Hello Prince George.’ Dressed in black pants, high boots and sparkly top, country superstar Reba McEntire and her band put on a stellar show Sunday. Fans at CN Centre went away happy – some deliriously happy – after a night of McEntire music. And songs that made them quietly nostalgic, screaming their heads off or wiping away a tear. After 20 years in the music biz, red-haired Reba, now 55, is a pro at pulling out all the stops and packing all her emotions into her songs, especially those melt your heart, love gone wrong songs. S She has big stage presence.

Prince George Free Press » Gemini Syndrome opens for Five Finger Death Punch

Gemini Syndrome, a five-member band, formed in 2010 to fill what they saw as a “gap” in contemporary music. And as they say in the U.K. when boarding the tube system: “Mind the gap” – because vocalist Aaron Nordstrom, guitarists Rich Juzwick, Mike Salerno, bassist A.P. Paveri and drummer Brian Steele Medina are poised for success. When not recording or off on tour, the band stays close to their home playing the Los Angeles hard rock scene. But Prince George audiences can hear them put metal to the pedal Sept. 25 as one of the opening acts for Five Finger Death Punch.

Prince George Free Press » Avril Lavigne rocks Prince George on Oct 5

Avril Lavigne is returning to Prince George. The Canadian singer, songwriter and musician first came onto the music scene at age 17. She was known as a young pop-punk tomboy who rejected the skin-baring come-ons, preferring instead to entice the record buying public with her powerhouse vocals, high-spirited melodies and straight-talking lyrics. Staying steadfastly true to herself and putting music before image paid off both critically and commercially for the Canadian-born artist. In 2002, Lavigne shot to global pop stardom with the six-times platinum Let Go, followed by the 2004 three times platinum Under My Skin and the 2007 platinum The Best Damn Thing.
