Kings County rolls out MyTurn COVID-19 vaccine appointments

HANFORD — Wednesday, the Kings County Department of Public Health started the mandated transition to MyTurn, the state’s online platform to schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments. Health officials said MyTurn appointments will be rolled out in phases to ensure the system is working properly before making it available countywide. The only appointments available in the system this week are for vaccination at the Kings County Department of Public Health clinic in Hanford. Visit https://myturn.ca.gov/ for current appointment availability. During this transition phase, KCDPH said it will schedule small clinics with this new system in order to work through any issues identified with the platform. The MyTurn platform also includes a “register for updates” feature, which notifies residents when they are eligible for the vaccine and when additional appointments become available.

State-mandated MyTurn website coming to Kings County

HANFORD — A new way for residents to schedule COVID-19 vaccine appointments will be available soon in Kings County. On Thursday, the Kings County Department of Public Health announced it will transition to the state-mandated MyTurn, a website platform used to schedule vaccine appointments online. The California Department of Public Health piloted the website in two Southern California counties and is now working on its implementation across the state. Currently, only health care workers in Phase 1A and individuals 65 and older from Phase 1B of the state’s Vaccinate All 58 tiered system are eligible to schedule appointments through MyTurn. KCDPH officials said the system will allow for appointment scheduling among additional populations as more vaccines become available.

KCDPH continues to warn about high case rate

HANFORD — With the lifting of the regional stay-at-home order on Monday, the Kings County Department of Public Health is urging residents to continue with COVID-19 prevention measures, including wearing masks, avoiding gatherings and staying home when sick. The lifting of the order means the county will go back to the Blueprint for a Safer Economy with color-coded tiers. Kings County is currently in the Widespread Purple Tier with a current daily adjusted COVID-19 case rate of 77.2 per 100,000 and the seven-day average testing positivity at 17.5%. Under the Purple Tier, multiple sectors can immediately begin to operate outdoors with modifications, including restaurants, gyms, movie theaters, places of worship and more. Sectors allowed to operate indoors with modifications include all retail and shopping centers at a maximum of 25% indoor capacity, and hair salons, barber shops and nail salons.
