Bangor, Maine News Update: April 28, 2021 A 19-year-old North Little Rock man is sentenced to 60 years in prison after pleading guilty to fatally shooting an Airman from Maine who tried to stop him from robbing a gas station in 2019. Senior Airman Shawn McKeough Jr grew up in Westbrook, before joining the Air Force, and had planned to settle down in Little Rock. Drequan Robinson will not be eligible for parole until he s nearly 60 years old. The public is invited to receive a COVID-19 vaccination today, between 1 and 5pm at the University of Maine in Orono, with no appointment necessary to take part in the clinic at the Wells Conference Center. Participants will have a choice between the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine or the two-shot Moderna vaccine. The Maine CDC reports 5 additional deaths and 425 new cases of COVID-19 statewide.

No Appointment Necessary for UMaine Vaccination Clinic Today A COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Orono today is being offered to the University of Maine community, and to the public, with no appointments necessary. So far, about half of Maine s eligible population has received at least their first vaccination shot. It s good news, that s helping the state government to make progress in getting things opened back up, like with the elimination of the mask mandate in outdoor locations and the suspension of Maine s travel restrictions. Get our free mobile app In an effort to get as many residents vaccinated, as possible, and because of diminishing demand for appointments, some places are offering the shots with no pre-registration required. That s what s going on today at the University of Maine in Orono.

COVID-19 vaccination clinic at UMaine tomorrow - UMaine News

A COVID-19 vaccination clinic, offered in partnership with Penobscot Community Health Center, will be held at Wells Conference Center at the University of Maine from 1–5 p.m., Wednesday, April 28, offering the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine and the two-shot Moderna vaccine. The second Moderna vaccination also will be administered at a clinic at Wells Conference Center. No appointment is necessary; community members will choose which vaccine they wish to receive during the registration process at Wells.  There is no charge for the vaccine. Proof of insurance is not required. If you have medical insurance, please bring your insurance card it so that any administrative costs can be billed to your insurer. There are no out-of-pocket costs for receiving the vaccine.
