Coast Guard Auxiliary offers Solano boating safety course

Coast Guard Auxiliary offers Solano boating safety course FAIRFIELD The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, North Solano Flotilla, will host an online boating safety course starting April 26. The course, from 6:30 to 9 p.m., will run four consecutive nights. The online test will occur April 30. Anyone interested should register by Monday so the class materials can be sent to them. The cost is $30. California law, beginning at the start of 2021, requires all boaters 40 or younger to take a certified safe boating class and carry the California Boater Card to operate a motorboat. This course meets that requirement. The course covers an introduction to boating, boating law, safety equipment, safe boating, navigation, boating problems, trailering, storing and protecting your boat, hunting and fishing, and water skiing and river boating.
