Two Convicted in King William County Murder of 8-year-old Boy
A King William County grand jury concluded a week-long trial with handing up verdicts of guilty for two men in the January 2019 murder of an 8-year-old boy. Charles E. Coleman III of King William, Va, and Keith E. Hargrove of Richmond, Va. were both convicted of 1st degree murder; use of a firearm in the commission of felony; armed burglary of a residence with a gun; entering a dwelling house, etc., with intent to commit murder, rape, robbery or arson; and malicious shooting at an occupied dwelling. The jury returned late Friday (May 28, 2021) with recommendations of two life sentences plus 49 years for each man. The jury began Monday, May 24, with King William County Commonwealth’s Attorney Matthew R. Kite and Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney Tiffany Webb presenting the case.
Charles E. Coleman III and Keith E. Hargrove were arrested on June 19, 2020, following an investigation into the shooting death of Orlando Anderson Jr., who was shot on January 21, 2019, at a King William County home.
