COVID-19: Brighton municipal buildings to close for provincial shutdown

According to the Municipality of Brighton, the King Edward Park Arena and community centre, public works operations building, the administration office on Alice Street and the library will be closed for 28 days starting on Saturday. During the provincial shutdown, council and committee advisory meetings will continue virtually and there will continue to be online payment options for water and tax bills.

Brighton to follow provincial lockdown guidelines

(Photo: Quinte News) The town of Brighton is following in line with all of Ontario’s lockdown-related guidelines starting on Boxing Day. The administrative office, library, King Edward Park Arena and public works buildings will all be closed, effective December 26, along with the office at Fire Station 1, the Brighton YMCA, Codrington Hall, Hilton Hall and the curling club. All council and committee meetings will continue to be held virtually and any payments to the town can be made online as well. Garbage tags can be bought at the usual locations in town and water test kits can still be picked up and dropped off at the HKPR Health Unit or the Municipality of Trent Hills office in Campbellford.
