After following their own individual inspiration to make the scriptures in Hawaiian more accessible, three locals said they worked together with more than 30 volunteers to digitize the scriptures in Hawaiian. They said this project required meticulous effort but was also transformative as they witnessed the Lord’s hand throughout the process and in the lives of those who helped.
Robert Lono Ikuwa, Keali‘i Haverly and Alohalani Housman each shared their stories of how they got involved in the miraculous effort.
A BYU–Hawaii associate professor in the Faculty of Culture, Language & Performing Arts, Housman oversaw the digitizing of the Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great Price in Hawaiian.

LDS Church April 2021 General Conference to be virtual only
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (KIFI) - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints April 2021 general conference will be virtual only.
The April proceedings will mirror the October 2020 general conference: The broadcast will originate from the Conference Center Theater on Temple Square, only the speakers and their spouses for a given session will be present in the meeting, and the music will be prerecorded from previous general conferences.
“As a worldwide organization, we have an obligation to be good citizens and to act with caution as it relates to such a unique setting as general conference, which traditionally brings thousands of visitors to Salt Lake City from around the globe,” the First Presidency has said.
With no crowd present, April gathering will be livestreamed across the globe.

For the third straight time, General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be all-virtual because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
On Thursday, the Utah-based faith announced, as expected, that April’s gathering will follow the pattern set in October, with church leaders speaking from a nearly empty Conference Center Theater in downtown Salt Lake City.
