At 7:41 a.m. Friday morning, a state trooper initiated a traffic stop on a Ford Taurus on northbound U.S. 31 near Fulton County Rd. 550 North. During the stop, the trooper reported being suspicious of criminal activity.

Earlier this week, Officials said part of the problem was people showing up an hour early to their appointment so they worked to let people know to only show up 10 minutes early. Dr. Sanmi Areola, Director of the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment, said the county welcomed the feedback. Areola said the county also added staff inside and outside, provided warming buses in case the lines stretched outside, adjusted spacing inside and provided buses to pick up patients and drop them off at the door.

Alcohol factor in Christmas Day crash

A Christmas Day accident that remains under investigation today is being attributed to alcohol. According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department, a 2017 Ford SUV driven by Christy Feltis, 28, Logansport, was traveling eastbound on Division Road when the car left the roadway and struck a tree in the 5500 block of Division Road, west of Cass County Road 600 East. The crash happened around 11:43 p.m. Friday. After being extricated from her vehicle by fire personnel, Feltis was flown via medical helicopter to Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, where she is in critical condition. Responding agencies included the CCSD, New Waverly Fire Department, Logansport Fire Department, and Phoenix Ambulance Service.
