Analysts hope a new era of transparency and merit will emerge after election of AJK Legislative Assembly July 24, 2021 Ali Amin Gandapur (Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan): Prime Minister Imran Khan has been fighting the case of IIOJ&K as an ambassador of Kashmiris which is widely being hailed. PTI government has been focusing on the development of Azad Jammu and Kashmir on merit and transparency. Our government gave a six billion development package besides provision of health cards to all residents of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Tomorrow, it will be the day of victory of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf. A new dawn will emerge in which there will be no corruption and everything will be transparent in AJK. The older leadership of AJK was not sincere to the Kashmir cause. We will remove the grievances of people of Kashmir.  

PPP complains to AJK EC about Gandapur, PML-N

July 25, 2021 ISLAMABAD: The PPP has submitted a written complaint to AJK election commission against the attitude of Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit- Baltistan Ali Amin Gandpur for continuing holding public rallies despite the chief election commissioner’s order for leaving AJK. The PPP also complained to the AJK election commission over use of government resources by the PML-N candidates in the elections. In a letter written to the AJK chief election commissioner, in charge PPP election cell Senator Taj Haider said the PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has complained that federal Minister Ali Amin Gandapur whom the office of the election commissioner has instructed to leave AJK immediately was continuing staying in the Valley, addressing public meetings and holding press conferences in blatant violation of orders.

All-out efforts would be made to ensure a transparent polling process in AJK, he further added. Chief Election Commissioner visited different polling stations accompanied with Member Election Commission Farhat Ali Mir and Raja Farooq Niaz. They checked the security and other arrangements at the polling station and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and process of polling throughout the region.
