Return of the displaced Kashmir Pandits to their native places was the most cherished desire of former Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Jagmohan, 93, who passed away on late Monday night.
During his meeting with Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, BJP president J P Nadda and Union Minister, Dharminder Pradhan in the month of September 2019, Jagmohan had stated that the return of the displaced Kashmir Pandits to their native place was his desire.
It was during the second tenure of Jagmohan, as Governor of the erstwhile state of J&K that Kashmiri Pandits were forced to leave their homes and hearts from Kashmir Valley due to terror threats.

New Delhi [India], May 4 (ANI): Former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Jagmohan passed away after a brief illness in Delhi on Monday. He was 94.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday condoled the death of the former Governor and termed his death as monumental loss for the nation .
Condoling his death, PM Modi in a tweet said, Jagmohan Ji s demise is a monumental loss for our nation. He was an exemplary administrator and a renowned scholar. LG Manoj Sinha condole demise of J&K ex-Governor Jagmohan
JAMMU: Lt Governor Manoj Sinha condoled the demise of former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Jagmohan Malhotra who breathed his last in New Delhi on Tuesday.
In a tweet Mr Sinha said, “My deepest condolences to his family, friends and admirers. May Almighty grant eternal peace to the departed soul”.
“Saddened to hear about the demise of Shri Jagmohan Ji, Former Governor of J&K. He was a great visionary, dynamic and effective administrator. Jagmohan Ji will be remembered for his great contributions, reforms in J&K and untiring efforts to serve the society”, he further tweeted.
