Local News Briefs: Parade route for Coshocton High School prom

COSHOCTON - The Coshocton High School s prom will be Saturday.
Parade lineup starts at 7 p.m. at the high school and will leave at 7:30 p.m. for Stewart Field. The prom will be from 8 to 10 p.m. at the stadium. Events will be moved to the high school gymnasium and the parade canceled for inclement weather.
The queen and king will be crowned at 9:30 p.m. The Class of 2020 is being invited back as their prom was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Parents and guests will not be permitted at Stewart Field or the high school, but are encouraged to line the parade route of Cambridge Road and Main Street.
NewPointe opens new church in time for Easter
There is 350 parking spots, an auditorium for 600 and wings for children and teens.
Leadership feels this shows they have roots in Coshocton and it allows them serve the community better.
NewPointe was previously housed at Coshocton Elementary School and has had a local branch for 8 years.
COSHOCTON – Easter is all about rebirths and new beginnings and so it is for NewPointe Church.
The congregation has officially moved into its new 35,000-square-foot facility on County Road 621, just inside Canal Lewisville. It includes 350 parking spots and seating capacity for up to 600 people in a state-of-the-art auditorium. It’s one of the largest church structures in Coshocton County.

Ridgewood returning to traditional instruction
WEST LAFAYETTE - Ridgewood Local Schools have announced a return to face-to-face instruction for all students starting in March.
Remote days will be observed March 1, 8 and 15 with all students in buildings the rest of the week those days. In-person instruction five days a week will start March 22. Students will be in class March 12, which was previously designated a personal development day. Students will be out of school on March 26 for staff to receive the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Easter break is March 31 to April 2.

COSHOCTON A 42-year-old Coshocton man has been charged with killing his wife Jan. 4.
Edward L. Young was formally charged with murder Wednesday in connection with the death of 34-year-old Martha Elizabeth Young of Coshocton, according to Coshocton County Sheriff James A. Crawford.
He had been previously been charged Jan. 5 with the murder of 26-year-old Joshua Allen Jones of Coshocton on the day before.
Both victims appeared to have suffered multiple gunshot wounds in a domestic situation at 23877 Hutchinson Ave. in Canal Lewisville.
Five children were present at the home during the incident.
Mrs. Young was found lying in the front yard of the home. Jones was lying on the floor inside the home, apparently dead. Mrs. Young was taken to Coshocton Regional Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
