Lenoir Man Arrested In Connection To Murder Of Two-Year-Old Son

38-year-old Michael Dale Summerow of Pope Lane in Lenoir was arrested Wednesday (April 28) by Caldwell County Sheriff’s Officers. He’s charged with murder and felony assault with a deadly weapon.
Summerow is charged in connection to the death of his child, Elijah Summerow, who was killed late last week. At about 11:40 last Friday night (April 23), Caldwell County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call regarding a shooting at a residential address on Pope Lane in Lenoir. Deputies arrived to find three people suffering from gunshot wounds.

At about 11:40 Friday night (April 23), Caldwell County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a call regarding a shooting at a residential address on Pope Lane in Lenoir. Deputies arrived to find three people suffering from gunshot wounds.
According to a statement from the Sheriff’s Office, 38-year-old Michael Dale Summerow initially shot his girlfriend, Ashley Ladawn Johnson, after first assaulting her. Summerow then allegedly shot their two-year-old child before turning the gun on himself. All three individuals were treated by Caldwell County E.M.S.

CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. A traffic stop ended with a man being shot twice by deputies after he reportedly pulled a gun out following a brief pursuit in Caldwell County, according to a news release.
Deputies with the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Deerbrook Road and Rocky Road in Lenoir on March 3rd just before 2am due to suspicious activity, according to a news release.
Deputies say the driver, 27-year-old Jordon Cornell, pulled over but fled the scene a short time later and a pursuit ensued.

CALDWELL COUNTY, N.C. A Caldwell County man was arrested after he was shot by police during a traffic stop when he pulled out a gun early Wednesday morning, authorities announced.
According to the Caldwell County Sheriff s Office, deputies pulled over a 2003 Ford truck at the intersection of Deerbrook Road and Rocky Road in Lenoir a little before 2 a.m. Deputies stopped the driver due to suspicious activity. During the stop, the driver of the truck sped away from police and initiated a chase onto Husband s Creek Road.
When the driver of the truck stopped, deputies got out to take him into the custody. Police allege that s when the suspect, 27-year-old Jordon Tomas Cornell, pulled out a handgun. Perceiving a threat, deputies fired their service weapons, shooting Cornell twice. He was taken to Caldwell Memorial Hospital for treatment.
