GRAND RAPIDS, MI – More protests against racism and police brutality are being planned, according to activists arrested Monday by Grand Rapids police during a demonstration calling for the conviction of a former Minneapolis officer charged in George Floyd’s death.
Justice for Black Lives leaders and other activists held a press conference Tuesday, March 9, saying they were targeted by police to try to silence them. But the police say they weren’t targeted but arrested for illegally blocking the roadway and peaceful protests are supported and encouraged.
