Weather: Tropical cyclone watch issued for Far North Queensland

A tropical cyclone watch has been issued for Far North Queensland. The cyclone watch is between Arukun and Karumba and also Mornington Island for a developing tropical low in the Gulf of Carpentaria. The Bureau of Meteorology s Dean Narramore said a tropical low in the Gulf of Carpentaria is forecast to develop into a Tropical Cyclone late tomorrow and into Thursday. The tropical low is expected to become slow-moving off the western Cape York Peninsula coast and develop into a tropical cyclone later on Wednesday, Mr Narramore said. A tropical cyclone is developing off Queensland s far north coast.(BoM) The system should remain slow-moving in the south eastern region of the Gulf of Carpentaria for several days.
