Loving husband, father and friend, Robert ‘Bob’ Gerald Dinwiddie unexpectedly passed away of natural causes on Feb. 27, 2021, at his home in Vacaville, California. Bob was born on Dec. 19, 1942, in Long Beach, California, to his parents, Robert Roy and Medora Opal Dinwiddie.
Bob attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School where he played the center position on their winning football team and graduated in the Class of 1961.
After high school, he attended UCLA and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business
Administration in 1966. While at UCLA he was a member of Beta Theta Pi Fraternity where he made lifelong friends.
COVID-19 canceled pretty much every event last year. So far, it might just be postponing 2021 events. According to the Henderson Tri-Fest Facebook page, this year s event will not be happening in April. They will continue to monitor COVID-19 conditions, and may have a weekend planned this fall. This isn t sitting well with everyone on social media. HANFORD â A wet morning couldnât dampen the spirits of volunteers and children during a toy drive at the Longfield Center on Saturday.
âThis event, itâs not only important for us, as the city or the groups here today, but to the community to have something to go to during the holiday season, especially during COVID,â Hanford Parks and Recreation Supervisor Armando da Silva said.
The drive-thru event gave away approximately 300 toys to children with at least half as many cars coming through. Toys handed out included LEGO sets, board games, Hot Wheels, Trolls and Frozen dolls, and much more.
