Pfizer develops new COVID vaccine that can be stored in refrigerator and is safe for kids as young as two
Pfizer says it has developed a new version of its coronavirus vaccine that could be stored between 36F (2C) and 46F (8C) for up to 10 weeks
Currently, the vaccine must be kept between -112F (-80C) and ‑76F (-60C) for up to six months or from 13F (-25C) to 5F (-15C) for two weeks
A new formulation would make the shot faster, cheaper and easier to distribute around the world
In an earnings call Tuesday, Pfizer said it plans on asking the FDA for full approval this month and for approval for ages 2 to 11 in September
COVID-19 Testing on Children Increases in Proportion
Children now account for 22 percent of new COVID-19 weekly cases in the United States, according to the latest data report on child cases of the CCP (China Communist Party) virus.
The American Academy of Pediatrics and the Children’s Hospital Association updated their joint report on Monday. There were 71,649 new child COVID-19 cases out of a total of 319,601 cases in the week of April 22-29. That means child cases represented 22.4 percent of the new weekly cases.
The increase in the proportion of child cases doesn’t correlate to an increase in child cases. It’s largely due to a decline in the proportion of adult cases.
