According to FBLA adviser Angila Golik, “We usually have a panel of teachers and community members as the judges, but this year, due to COVID-19, we opened up voting to all students, faculty, and staff as well.”
Voting took place by electronic ballot, so the results could be seen instantaneously by everyone involved. The $400 in cash prizes for the winners were sponsored by the Adams Hub from Carson City, and FBLA senior members Abby Golik and Serena Dantzler were the emcees of the video show.

MERCER COUNTY – Our Home Family Resource Center announced the launch
of Empty Bowls Mercer County, its annual fundraising campaign. Empty
Bowls was established four years ago as the primary fundraiser for this
local nonprofit that serves county residents facing domestic violence,
poverty, or separation from parents.

BENNINGTON â Using traditional media, the GBICS website, and social media, Greater Bennington Interfaith Community Services, Inc. and partners far exceeded their $10,000 Bennington Empty Bowls: COVID Edition campaign goal, raising over $23,000 to feed families and individuals in the Bennington area.
GBICS will use the funds to buy food to distribute at its Kitchen Cupboard program throughout 2021.
âIn a year when we could not gather in community to share delicious soups out of handmade ceramic bowls at our traditional Empty Bowls Soup Supper, we decided to do things the COVID way: Differently!â former GBICS director and Empty Bowls coordinator Sue Andrews said.
