At the beginning of this year, EastEnders’ Honey Mitchell and Jay Brown surprised viewers by embarking on a romance – and it’s great to see both characters looking happier than ever. It’s expected for every couple to have a period of contentment in their early era; but we haven’t seen much of this up close.
The soap risks neglecting Jay and Honey with a lack of focus and progression, with nothing to nurture them going forward. It’s time EastEnders took advantage of the pair’s long history and explored what they can do as a unit.
Whitney had sped away from the scene in Gray s car, but the lawyer realised it was his car that had been used in the hit-and-run. He later caught up with Whitney to help her cover her tracks.
The scheming lawyer even managed to throw police off the scent, but it was apparent that everything depended on whether Kat lived or died.
When Kathy Beale and Jay Brown arrived on the scene, they were stunned to see Phil tell police that he was Kat s family and would be accompanying her to the hospital.
At the hospital later on, an emotional Phil showed his vulnerable side as he pleaded with the unconscious Kat to come back to him.
EastEnders ended with a huge cliffhanger on Tuesday (May 11), with Whitney Dean involved in a dramatic hit and run as her desire for revenge against Ben Mitchell took over.
Whitney has been left devastated by the death of her fiancé Kush Kazemi last month, but while viewers know that it was Gray Atkins who was responsible for Kush s death, a grieving Whitney has laid the blame on Ben and Phil Mitchell instead. BBC
Tonight s episode focused on Ben and Callum Highway s long-awaited wedding ceremony and, despite the hiccups ahead of time, the ceremony was still set to go ahead.
After she was informed by Honey that the wedding was set to take place later that day, a visibly upset Whitney went to Gray, telling him she feared Callum would end up dead like Kush if he married into the Mitchell family.
During the chat, Tony added that forming a cohort during filming helped make the scenes a lot more real , saying that he hopes they can get back to filming all scenes without social distancing measures in place soon. It was gorgeous. It was really nice, he shared. It really made the scenes a lot easier to play out – and to make it a lot more real. It was how it should be – and hopefully how we can get back to. It was really lovely - for me and Max, and for the director, it was brilliant. It was so much easier to work without obstructions.
EastEnders couple Ben Mitchell and Callum Highway finally tied the knot during tonight s episode (May 11).
The couple s love story and their big day has inspired fans, who affectionately refer to them as Ballum, to raise money for LGBT+ charity Just Like Us to celebrate the pair. BBC
fellow viewers generously donate to bring them closer to their £1,500 goal.
The fundraiser s description reads: Ben and Callum s story and wedding is important because it gives the opportunity for young people to see LGBT+ characters, living full and rounded lives full of love (and the typical soap opera drama!), and to say these people are just like me .
