Shane Richie has dropped a huge hint he is to return to EastEnders to spoil Phil Mitchell and Kat Slater’s relationship.
Whitney went to see Kat anyway, explaining to her friend that she d never meant to hurt her she was actually angry at the Mitchells because she believed they d killed Kush Kazemi.
Kat tried to set her straight that Phil (Steve McFadden) had nothing to do with Kush s death, before revealing she wouldn t implicate her in the hit-and-run.
With one worry taken care of, Whitney was met with an unexpected barrage of fury when Gray found out she d defied his orders not to speak with Kat. You only care about yourself, he seethed. After everything I ve done for you… you just take and take! And draw me into your chaotic, petty life.
Whitney had sped away from the scene in Gray s car, but the lawyer realised it was his car that had been used in the hit-and-run. He later caught up with Whitney to help her cover her tracks.
The scheming lawyer even managed to throw police off the scent, but it was apparent that everything depended on whether Kat lived or died.
When Kathy Beale and Jay Brown arrived on the scene, they were stunned to see Phil tell police that he was Kat s family and would be accompanying her to the hospital.
At the hospital later on, an emotional Phil showed his vulnerable side as he pleaded with the unconscious Kat to come back to him.
