David Wesley hasn’t slept with the light off since he first moved into the Colonial Hotel three years ago. Night is when the rats come out of the walls, through the holes they’ve gnawed under the sink.

The Birthplace of Route 66 Festival is back on for 2021.
Amenities at the next festival are anticipated to include 1,500 servings of donated Andy s Frozen Custard, live music by acts including two-time Super Bowl performers Sixwire, honor for area health care heroes who shepherded the community through COVID-19, and a show and parade including at least 350 classic American cars.
Organizers hope attendance for the August outdoor event will include 15,000 more people than turned out for the 2019 festival, the last year Birthplace of Route 66 went forward before the COVID-19 pandemic. I d love to have 66,000 people, quipped local lawyer Aaron Sachs, a key festival sponsor. But I believe it s going to be more like 80,000-plus that s going to attend.

GOING by the calendar of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, the 2023 presidential election is exactly 671 days away.
On October 15, INEC National Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, announced February 18, 2023 as the date for the 2023 presidential contest.
He made the disclosure at the inauguration of the House of Representatives committee on 1999 constitution review.
Since the date was fixed the polity has been charged as hordes of presidential contenders and pretenders criss-cross the length and breadth of the country strategising, aligning and realigning.
