Desirique S. Johnson, 22, was charged Wednesday with second-degree murder.
When police responded to a report of a car that crashed into the Motel 6 at 2700 Curry Road, it appeared Price crashed his vehicle into the motel while attempting to flee the scene.
Police said Price, also of Schenectady, died of a single gunshot wound that day.
This week, Johnson was apprehended about 4 p.m. after a brief foot chase near his residence, police said.
Citing the
active investigation, police said they wouldn’t release details about Johnson’s involvement in the homicide case.

COLONIE – A homicide at the Motel 6 on Curry Road in Colonie is under investigation.
Police say 20-year-old Xiaa Price was shot and died at the scene. They say it happened around 1:45 a.m.
This was initially reported to police as a car accident. Police tell NewsChannel 13 they believe there was some kind of interaction between the Price and the suspect, or suspects, and that he was shot while trying to flee in his car, causing him to crash that vehicle into the motel.
Police are not saying what the motive behind this may have been, or if the man and the suspect knew each other.

Several sources are reporting that a male in his 20 s was shot and killed while driving during the overnight into Tuesday morning. Colonie Police are ruling the death a homicide and believe the man inside the car attempted to flee the scene but lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the Motel 6 in Colonie.
The Daily Gazette is reporting that the incident took place at around 1:45AM on Tuesday morning. Shortly after, Colonie Police responded to a call about a car that had crashed into the Motel 6. The report states that upon arrival, Colonie Police were able to ascertain that the man inside the vehicle was the casualty of a homicide and died from the gunshot wound, not from crashing his car into the Motel 6 at 2700 Curry Road.
