For years, I had been somewhat aware of the data that was being made public by climate and environmental scientists from all parts of the world, but I was not motivated to get involved. I did not get motivated until I looked into the eyes of my (then) 2-year-old granddaughter. She is so cute and fun-loving and smart. I have pictures if you want to see them! I got involved when I realized she will be alive in 2050 and 2080 when things could get really bad.
