Sheriff: Georgia man arrested for mother s murder, assault

BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. - Police have arrested a Georgia man and charged him with the assault and murder of his mother.
Officials say their investigation began Sunday night around 7 p.m. when they were called to a home on the 70 block of Greatwood Drive in White, Georgia.
According to deputies, a family member discovered 62-year-old Katrina Kay Garrity unresponsive in the home.
Investigators with the Bartow County Sheriff s Office arrested 38-year-old Bryan Ray Moodie less than 24 hours later. Garrity is Moodie s mother.
According to information released Monday by Bartow Sheriff Clark Millsap:
Bryan Ray Moodie was arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault in connection with the death of his 62-year-old mother, Katrina Kay Garrity.
Deputies were called to Garrityâs residence at 79 Greatwood Drive in White on Sunday around 7 p.m. A family member found her unresponsive at the home. No additional details have been released concerning the incident.
Moodie is currently being held by the Bartow County Sheriffâs Office pending a bond hearing before the Bartow County Magistrate Court. WHITE, Ga. A man has been charged with murder in the death of his own mother, authorities said on Monday.
At around 7 p.m. on Sunday, Bartow County sheriff s deputies responded to a home off Greatwood Drive in White, Georgia, after another family member discovered Katrina Kay Garrity unresponsive inside.
According to Sheriff Clark Millsap, 38-year-old Bryan Ray Moodie, of Woodstock, Georgia, has been taken into custody and charged with murder and aggravated assault of his 62-year-old mother.
Moodie is currently being held by the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office pending a bond hearing before the Bartow County Magistrate Court.
