KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 10): The main index at Bursa Malaysia eked out limited gains at the midday break today as investor sentiment turned tepid.
At 12.30pm, the FBM KLCI was up 1.05 points at 1,587.18. The index had earlier risen to a high of 1,592.27.
Losers led gainers by 443 to 274, while 731 counters traded unchanged. Trading volume was 2.97 billion shares valued at RM1.83 billion.
The gainers included Ann Joo Resources Bhd, Hartalega Holdings Bhd, Cymao Holdings Bhd, Euro Holdings Bhd, Widetech (M) Bhd, Aeon Credit Service (M) Bhd and Paragon Union Bhd.
The actively traded stocks included Dagang NeXchange Bhd, AirAsia X Bhd, EA Holdings Bhd, Velesto Energy Bhd, Iris Corp Bhd, Lion Industries Bhd, Opcom Holdings Bhd, AirAsia Group Bhd, Yong Tai Bhd and Foundpac Group Bhd.

At 12.30pm, the FBM KLCI was up 9.62 points to 1,582.95. The index had earlier risen to a high of 1,586.90.
Gainers led losers by 557 to 446, while 458 counters traded unchanged. Trading volume was 3.93 billion shares valued at RM2.28 billion.
The gainers included Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd, Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Bhd, Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Bhd, Petronas Dagangan Bhd, PLS Plantations Bhd, Telekom Malaysia Bhd, Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Bhd and MISC Bhd.
The actively traded stocks included Dagang NeXchange Bhd, EA Holdings Bhd, Velesto Energy Bhd, Sapura Energy Bhd, QES Group Bhd, KNM Group Bhd and Opcom Holdings Bhd.
KUALA LUMPUR (Feb 4): The main index of Bursa Malaysia reversed its gains and slipped before the midday break today, in line with weaker regional markets, as glove makers retreated.
At 12.30pm, the FBM KLCI had dropped four points to 1,578.99. The index earlier rose to a high of 1,586.55.
Gainers edged losers by 379 to 345, while 714 counters traded unchanged. Trading volume was 4.05 billion shares valued at RM2.17 billion.
The decliners included Top Glove Corp Bhd, Frontken Corp Bhd, Pentamaster Corp Bhd, Mi Technovation Bhd, Dufu Technology Corp Bhd, Supermax Corp Bhd, Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd, AEON Credit Service (M) Bhd and Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd (KLK).

At 12.30pm, the FBM KLCI was up 12.07 points to 1,578.47. The index had earlier risen to a high of 1,585.18.
Losers overtook gainers by 541 to 527, while 422 counters traded unchanged. Trading volume was 3.97 billion shares valued at RM2.64 billion.
The gainers included Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd, Petronas Dagangan Bhd, Frontken Corp Bhd, Hengyuan Refining Company Bhd, Hartalega Holdings Bhd, Nestle (M) Bhd and Tasco Bhd.
The actively traded stocks included Iris Corp Bhd, Trive Property Group Bhd, EA Holdings Bhd, GPAS Holdings Bhd, AT Systematization Bhd and QES Group Bhd.
At 9.05am, the FBM KLCI added 3.39 points to 1,598.19.
The early gainers included Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Bhd, Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd, Unisem (M) Bhd, ViTrox Corp Bhd, Public Bank Bhd, Pintaras Jaya Bhd, Supermax Corp Bhd, Euro Holdings Bhd and Hartalega Holdings Bhd.
Bloomberg said Asian stocks pulled back from an all-time high in early Friday trading as investors assessed earnings, prospects for stimulus and escalating coronavirus cases.
The dollar was on course to decline for its first week in three, it said.
Inter-Pacific Research Sdn Bhd said the FBM KLCI slipped below the 1,600 level yesterday on sustained funds’ profit taking/selling actions, extending its downtrend for a sixth straight session.
