Bathurst trainer Chris Frisby has had plenty of highs and lows in the sport of harness racing - but he admits a win with Our Uncle Sam in the Group 3 Shirley Turnbull Memorial on Saturday night was more than a little emotional. The Shirley Turnbull is the race everyone in Bathurst wants to win because of who the Turnbulls are, and because everyone knew and loved Shirley - it s always a bit of an emotional race and for me this win was a bit of a tear-jerker, Frisby said. Shirley was a lovely lady and Tony (legendary Bathurst trainer Anthony Turnbull, who is now 90) was there on Saturday night. I had a bit of a yarn with him before the race - it was just an unforgettable night.

Former Kildare All Star and Kerry native, Karl O Dwyer, has been appointed to take charge of Ballyteague.
O Dwyer has successfully managed clubs in Kildare, Wicklow and Carlow.
His appointment has been met with much anticipation and confidence from both Larks players and indeed club officials.
Karl takes charge in January.
