What is the Best of the Best?
Since 1997, the Caller-Times has held a readers choice contest to determine the best businesses and people in various food, services and entertainment categories.
Which individuals and businesses get nominated is all up to readers. Once the nominations are announced, readers will have the chance to vote for their favorite entrees.
Texas comedian William Lee Martin making a stop in Aransas Pass
Does it get any better than cowboy hats and comedy?
Texas comedian William Lee Martin has announced his nationwide stand-up tour is making a stop in the Coastal Bend.
The All-American Mutt Tour is slated to stop at the Rialto Theater in Aransas Pass on June 5.
Martin, formerly know as Cowboy Bill, has been in comedy for 25 years and has two comedy specials streaming on Amazon Prime.
During the pandemic, Martin has gained over half a million followers on Facebook by sharing positive messages during his live “4pm Daily Talk Y’all” show.

Flour Bluff ISD announced the winners of the district s elementary and secondary Teacher of the Year awards Thursday.
Fifth-grade teacher Jeana Banta from Flour Bluff Intermediate and math teacher Mary Keyes from Flour Bluff High School were surprised by FBISD administrators and members of the Teacher of the Year Selection Committee when they came to their classrooms to inform them they were selected.
Keyes has been in education for 35 years and started out as a paraprofessional. She has been a teacher for 25 years.
“I care about my students and do my best to bring out their best, Keyes said.
