Woman found dead near vehicle fully submerged in Carter Lake

OMAHA, Neb. (KMTV) â The body of a 22-year-old woman was found near a fully submerged vehicle in Carter Lake early Wednesday, according to Omaha Police.
Around 12:50 a.m., authorities were on routine patrol near the intersection of Locust St and Carter Lake Shore Dr when they saw a fully submerged vehicle in the lake.
The Omaha Fire Department was notified and assembled a team to check the vehicle.
The 22-year-old was found dead near the vehicle as it was being pulled out of the water.

Around 12:50 am Wednesday, officers were on a routine patrol near Locust Street and Carter Lake Shore Dr when they spotted the vehicle.
As the vehicle was being pulled out of the water, the body, identified as 22-year-old Nyahon Peter Thuok, was spotted.

CARTER LAKE, Iowa (AP) - Police in Omaha, Nebraska, on Thursday found the body of a woman inside a car discovered submerged in a far western Iowa lake.
Officers patrolling the area found the submerged car in Carter Lake just before 1 a.m. Wednesday, police said. The car’s headlights and taillights were still on when the officers found it in the water.
The Omaha Fire Department was called to pull the car from the water, and the body of Nyahon Thuok, 22, of Omaha, was found inside it.
