(KMTV) — The body of a 22-year-old woman was found near a fully submerged vehicle in Carter Lake early Wednesday, according to Omaha Police. Around 12:50 a.m., authorities were on routine patrol near the intersection of Locust St and Carter Lake Shore Dr when they saw a fully submerged vehicle in the lake. The Omaha Fire Department was notified and assembled a team to check the vehicle. The 22-year-old was found dead near the vehicle as it was being pulled out of the water.

As the vehicle was being pulled out of the water, the body, identified as 22-year-old Nyahon Peter Thuok, was spotted.
