On June 16 Gayla Thompson sat in the front seat of a Jeep stuck in heavy traffic in Nashville, en route to the hospital. Gayla was extremely pregnant and in the middle of contractions and soon-to-be-born Carson Thompson wasn’t going to wait. And so dad Ryan a UPS driver helped to deliver Carson on the side of the road. Carson’s older brother, Connor, was born five years ago the usual way in a hospital.

Those were the thoughts racing through Gayla Thompson s mind on June 16 just after 8 a.m. as she sat in the front seat of a Jeep stuck in heavy traffic on I-440 en route to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
