Jazz Chisholm Jr. (left shoulder contusion) and corner outfielder/first baseman
Garrett Cooper (left elbow sprain) have landed on the 10-day injured list. To take their places on the active roster, outfielder
Lewis Brinson has been recalled from Triple-A Jacksonville, while Miami selected the contract of reliever
Andrew Bellatti. Miami already had a vacancy on the 40-man roster, so no additional move was needed in that regard.
Bellatti is now in position to make his first major league appearance in six years. The right-hander tossed 23 1/3 innings of 2.31 ERA ball for the Rays in 2015 but hasn’t been in the big leagues since. Bellatti pitched in the high minors of the Tampa Bay system in 2016. He signed a minor league deal with the Orioles in 2017 but missed the entire season due to injury. Bellatti didn’t return to

The Miami Marlins placed first baseman Garrett Cooper and exciting rookie infielder Jazz Chisholm on the 10-day injured list Monday, following Sunday s game against Philadelphia a 7-4 loss in which each player was injured.
Chisholm was injured on a diving attempt at catching a popup single in the first inning. He s listed as having a left shoulder contusion. Cooper collided with Travis Jankowski who was beating out a bunt at first base in the eighth inning, resulting in a left elbow sprain.

Jon Lester pitched seven scoreless innings and homered, Juan Soto hit a pair of home runs and the Washington Nationals routed the Miami Marlins 18-1 on Monday night.

WASHINGTON Jon Lester pitched seven scoreless innings and homered, Juan Soto hit a pair of home runs and the Washington Nationals routed the Miami Marlins 18-1 on Monday night.
Lester (3-4) turned in his longest outing of the season, allowing six hits while striking out seven without a walk. Lester hit his fourth career homer and added a single for his fourth career multi-hit game.

Jon Lester pitched seven shutout innings and hit one of Washington s six home runs and the Nationals beat the visiting Miami Marlins 18-1 Monday night.
Juan Soto continued his post-All Star game push with two home runs, a double and five RBIs, giving him five homers and 11 RBIs in four games.
In his longest outing of the season, Lester (3-4) allowed six hits while striking out a season-high seven batters without a walk.
Trea Turner, Josh Bell and Tres Barrera also homered for Washington.
Miguel Rojas had three hits for the Marlins, who have lost three straight and were without several regulars.
