By siliconindia | Monday, 19 April 2021, 03:39 Hrs Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Sunday said that India will become the top electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing hub in due course of time. In his address at Amazon s Smbhav Summit 2021, the minister said that lithium-ion batteries will be fully manufactured in the country in the next six months. India is moving ahead towards making electric vehicles. In due course of time, we will be the number one electric vehicle maker in the world, Gadkari said. Noting that India has got tremendous capability for making green power, he said that: We are power surplus. This is time for Indian economy to use electric as power.

DLT suspending most office services due to COVID-19
THAILAND: The Department of Land Transport (DLT) has announced it is suspending driver training and drivers license testing across the country effective yesterday (Apr 16) in an effort to stifle the spread of COVID-19, but will continue extending licenses that don’t require testing and will allow expired licenses to be used until June 30th.

DLT Director-General Jirut Wisanjit stated on Thursday that DLT offices will not be training or testing for personal drivers’ licenses or public transport licenses except for those who have already completed training at recognised schools.
