A new Carlow-based company is attempting to tackle isolation and help elderly people live healthy, independent lives at home through a series of innovative technologies.
It comes as new research by the company shows 55pc of people aged over 65 have felt isolated during the pandemic.
The survey of 1,000 adults commissioned by HaloCare found almost half of people (45pc) admitted they sometimes or often feel down due to the impact of reduced social engagement in recent months.
The company was co-founded by Dr Johnny Walker, an interventional radiologist and nuclear physician, and David Walsh and Niall Kelly, the founders of well-known security firm Netwatch.
