I probably was still too busy trying to figure out Cebu City Vice Mayor Michael Rama’s cryptic message to Mayor Edgardo Labella.
But yes, I woke up one day to discover that our very own City Hall has a witch, if it’s a girl, or a warlock, if it’s a boy. Either way, the word City Councilor Prisca Niña Mabatid used was “ungo,” which, come to think of it, is non-gender specific. Unless I am wrong. (Please put your comment below.)
Unfortunately, I didn’t have much details. As I said, I had been too invested in the drama that was unfolding between Rama and Labella that I had little time for anything else.

I ve used the phrase hidden gem a couple times during my little tour around some of my favorite breweries in the Baltimore area. I think Diamondback Brewing Co qualifies as well.
Diamondback Brewing Co sits in Locust Point right near McHenry Row. For a little while I had no idea it was there. I had heard of it, and always thought it would be a good idea to stop by, but I could never see it. Then I noticed the brick tower that was like a beacon shining my path to great beer.
Diamondback doesn t have quite as many brew options, which is totally fine. They now what they do well and they stick with it. I have no problem with that. Their space is perfect to hang out in. I can t wait for the pandemic to be over so I can gather up my friends and go hang there on a nice summer day. I m also anxious for summer because their summer brew is so amazingly good. It s a blonde ale and it s to die for.

I m heading into Howard County for our next stop on my tour around some of my favorite breweries in the Baltimore area. I first heard about Manor Hill Brewing when I was grabbing some drinks at Victoria Gastro Pub. My now wife lived down the street so we went there quite a few times. One night the bartender wanted me to try some local beers they had and that s what turned out to be Manor Hill Brewing.
Immediately I fell in love with their amber ale. I really do love a good amber ale and this one is fantastic.

Founded in 1979, Boulder Beer was not just the first small and independent craft brewery in Colorado, but one of the very first in the nation. Despite many firsts such as Hazed & Infused a hazy ale launched a decade before the hazy craze Boulder Beer and its 40-year history was in jeopardy when it was announced that the brewery had planned to end distribution in October 2019 and close its brewpub last January 2020.
