Maureen Healy - The Martha s Vineyard Times

The Martha s Vineyard Times Maureen Therese Flanders Healy, West Tisbury’s former executive secretary and spouse of West Tisbury select board member Kent Healy, died on May 21, 2021. She was 84.  Maureen was born to Cyrus and Mary Flanders on July 22, 1936. She grew up in Windsor Locks, Conn., with all the love and attention due to the youngest child and only daughter among the five Flanders children.  She and her family visited Menemsha each summer to see her grandparents and other relatives. When she was old enough, Maureen and her cousin Marjorie Manter lived in a fishing shack, and worked at the Home Port.

The Martha s Vineyard Times COVID cases dipped last week Tisbury is still the only municipality in Massachusetts at the highest risk. One week after cases spiked on Martha’s Vineyard to 55 positive results of COVID-19, they were back down to 26 total cases for the Island last week, according to an expanded report released Monday by the Island boards of health. Of those 26 cases, 19 were from Martha’s Vineyard Hospital, four were at the TestMV site, 2 by the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah), and one from another unspecified provider. Twelve of the cases were symptomatic, 9 were asymptomatic, and five were unknown.

The Martha s Vineyard Times COVID cases on the rise again Dukes, Nantucket counties have the highest positivity rates in the state. There were 55 new COVID-19 cases reported last week, showing another rise in cases on Martha’s Vineyard after several weeks of a downward trend. The rise in cases is the Island’s first significant rise since mid-April. Last week’s cases are a 22 case increase from the previous week’s 33 cases.  Between May 16 and May 22, the 55 cases consisted of 46 from the hospital, six from TestMV, one staff member from public school testing, one from the Wampanoag Tribe of Gay Head (Aquinnah), and one from anohter provider. The majority of individuals who tested positive were in their 30s or younger with 13 in their 30s, 19 in their 20s, seven in their teens, seven younger than 10, five in their 40s, and four in their 50s.
