The U.S. subsidiary of Japan-based IT and electronics company NEC has unveiled a new business to focus on providing the company’s products and services to federal agencies in this country.
NEC National Security Systems officially stood up last year and operates under a special security or proxy agreement with the U.S. government to operate as an independently-run subsidiary given the foreign ownership, NEC said Thursday.
The NSS subsidiary’s customers include agencies in the national security, intelligence, homeland defense, immigration and law enforcement domains. Key technology focus areas include biometric and other identity technologies, along with artificial intelligence and fiber optics.
