Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) continues its growth in the latest Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, moving up to 250
th place. Since it broke into the QS World University Rankings in 349 place in 2017, UBD has risen to be in the top one per cent out of over 26,000 universities globally since last year.
The announcement by QS showed that UBD performed particularly well, improving in the six indicators. Its strongest indicator, International Faculty, was placed among top 50 in the world. This indicator along with Faculty-Student Ratio and International Students also sees UBD performing better than the global average. UBD has also made improvements in Academic Reputation and Employer Reputation.

Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) and its alumnus Kelvin Pong Ming Onn signed an agreement yesterday, to fund the development, teaching and research of UBD’s Botanical Research Centre (UBDBRC).
Pong, a chartered financial consultant who graduated from UBD with a Master of Business Administration, signed the agreement with UBD Vice-Chancellor Datin Dr Dayang Hajah Anita Binurul Zahrina binti Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Wijaya Dato Seri Setia Haji Awang Abdul Aziz at Simpur Herbal Café at the UBD campus.
In recognition of his contribution, a garden at UBDBRC has been named The Pong Endangered Species Garden.
