Group rallying 100,000 clerics to pray for peace in Kaduna

Punch Newspapers Sections Godwin Isenyo, Kaduna A coalition of inter-faith group in Kaduna on Sunday said it is mobilising about 100,000 preachers to fast and pray to promote harmony among residents of the state. The move was said to be part of activities to mark the United  Nations’ World Interfaith Week. Pastor Johanna Buru, one of the promoters,  and also the General Overseer of Christ Evangelical and Life Intervention Ministry, Kaduna, said some Muslims clerics and worshippers  from across the country would be invited to attend the prayer and break  fasting in the church with their Christian brethren. According to him, the interfaith week will provide golden opportunity for Christians and Muslims, on as well as  traditional leaders to meet, “interact and deliberate on issues relating  to religious tolerance.”
