Marijuana: point system slims down, code comes close to finalization

Staff Writer After its Jan. 28 work session on the marijuana application and its associated point system, the Town of Cedaredge Board of Trustees met again on Thursday, Feb. 4, to further fine tune the regulations on that process, as well as code for marijuana in general. As previously indicated at the last January meeting, redundant items that repeated town code and state law were removed. Other items on the point system were tweaked as well. Firstly, as far as significant alterations go, on Item J under the general license requirements, the board removed language regarding the need for designated RV parking, as redundant town code would push retailers into providing that parking in order for RVs not to be parked along the street. Therefore, instead of being worded as a special requirement for off-street parking for marijuana businesses, the ordinance will just refer to the town code, which has the regulation for all businesses.
