(Commonwealth Utilities Corp.) — At  10:25 a.m. Thursday, July 29, CUC experienced  a mechanical  problem on Engine No. 2 at Power  Plant  I   in Lower  Base. As  a  result,  the  power   plant  experienced  under-frequency,  automatically activating  the  electrical protective devices tripping multiple feeders.  CUC personnel  are currently addressing  the problem  and will begin re-energizing the  affected feeders.  Water  services  will also  be  affected as  a result  of the outage. Updates will follow as soon  as they are available.  CUC appreciates  your understanding and patience as it continues to restore  power  services to the island.
