San Diego, May 3 : Two people were killed and 23 others injured after a vessel overturned off the coast of the US city of San Diego, authorities said.
Multiple agencies including San Diego Lifeguards rescued 25 people from the water, said the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department tweeted on Sunday after the accident. Sadly, two did not survive. 23 were taken to local hospitals, the Department tweeted, adding that US federal agencies are still searching the water in vessels and aircraft , reports Xinhua news agency.

Three people died, and 27 others were rescued Sunday morning after a boat suspected of smuggling people from Tijuana, Mexico, north to San Diego, California, capsized, according to local law enforcement.
The incident unfolded around 10:30 a.m. local time near the Cabrillo National Monument at the tip of Point Loma, a coastal community near downtown San Diego. Both Customs and Border Protection and the Navy have vessels based near that neighborhood.
The overloaded boat crashed into the shoreline of the peninsula and then flipped upside down. A report from the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department stated that first responders were on the scene roughly 10 minutes after a call came in about a boat carrying more than 20 people overturning.

SAN DIEGO (KGTV) - Two Navy sailors happened to be at Cabrillo National Monument when a boat carrying about 30 people tipped over and was destroyed, and those two men jumped into the water to save help save people from the wreck.
The incident happened Sunday morning off on Point Lomaâs coast.
Officials said about 30 people were on the boat, which is suspected of being used to smuggle people into the country, when the boat hit the rocky shore along Cabrillo National Monument, tipping over then eventually getting destroyed by waves. Three people died in the incident.
