Two company directors have been sentenced in the Old Bailey for operating an illegal waste wood operation in Essex.
Mehmet Mustafa of Highlands Road, Basildon, was fined £4,000 and ordered to pay compensation of £30,000 to a victim who was left with abandoned wood waste to dispose of. Costs of £16,000 were awarded against him.
Finbar Breslin, formerly of Patent House, London E14, and now of County Donegal, Ireland, received a two years’ conditional discharge and a five-year director’s disqualification. He was described as the ‘front man’ of the operation. A third director was acquitted by a majority verdict.
