Minister of National Security, Dr. Horace Chang, has expressed condolences to the family of Constable Fabian Morris, and members of the
Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF), following Morris death in the line of duty on Thursday morning. Constable Morris succumbed to his injuries after being struck from his motorcycle by a motorist. “The loss of life of any police officer in the line of duty is always a matter of profound sadness. We urge motorists and pedestrians to exercise vigilance and extreme caution on the road,” said Dr. Chang. Chang noted that the JCF’s Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB), of which Constable Morrison was a member, will continue to maintain and develop proactive road policing activities to assist in reducing casualties.

A release from the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has presented more details of the motor vehicle collision that led to the death of a police constable in St Andrew on Thursday morning.
Reports indicate that about 8:10 am, Constable Morrison was driving a police service motorcycle when on reaching the intersection of Arnold Road and Camp Road, a female motorist turned suddenly into the path of the service motorcycle, resulting in the collision, the CCU release said
The lawman was flung from the motorcycle and sustained multiple injuries from the overall impact.
