The Presidential Candidate of the Convention People’s Party (CPP),Mr Ivor Kobina Greenstreet, has entreated the Ghanaian electorate to give the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) electoral electric shock by voting for the CPP on election day, Monday, December 7, 2020.
“The NPP and the NDC, had alternated in running the administration of the nation for the past 28 years, but have not satisfied the needs of Ghanaians, and the time has come to reject them for the CPP, Ghana’s founding party, which has an unparalleled history of development,” Mr Greenstreet said.
He added: “Everybody should look within and ask what the larger parties have done in the myriad of problems facing us.”

Voting has started in earnest in 38,622 polling centres across Ghana as the country elects a President and 275 parliamentarians.
From Cape Coast in the Central Region, correspondent Shirley Asiedu-Addo reports that voting in the Cape Coast South constituency took off smoothly.
Voters are observing Covid-19 protocols and going through the process orderly.
At the Third Ridge Education Flat A polling station, 25 of the 407 voters expected to vote had already cast their votes. The presiding officer, Ms Victoria Nutefe Anku said the exercise had so far been without hitches.
Similarly, at the Third Ridge Education Flat B centre, the presiding officer, Mr Isaac Adjokatse said 40 out of the 405 expected voters had cast their votes as of 7.40 am while about six others were in the queue waiting to cast their votes.
Lesbianism, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender(LGBT) has been a bane in Ghana for ages. Ghana is seen as a staunch Christian country and being ingrained in the biblical teachings hence objecting to anything that contravenes with the Bible.

The Gomoa Central Constituency, with its capital at Gomoa Afransi, was among the 45 constituencies created by the Electoral Commission (EC) in the run-up to the 2012 general election.
It has an estimated population of 93,406.
The people in the constituency are predominantly farmers, most of whom are into the production of maize, cassava, pineapple, tomatoes and other food crops.
Other major towns located in the constituency include Mpota, Asebu, Pomadze, Oguaakrom, Ekwamkrom, Aboso, Benso, Oboasi and Lome.
Context
In the constituency’s first parliamentary election in 2012, Rachel Florence Appoh of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was elected Member of Parliament (MP) after polling 15,719 votes, representing 57 per cent. Dr Edward Nana Ketu Cudjoe of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had 11,385, representing 41.36 per cent, while Grace Ignophia Appiah who stood on the ticket of the Progressive People’s Party (PP
Joe Ghartey is the current Railway Minister
The Ghana Railway Company Limited (GRCL) has congratulated Member of Parliament for Essikadu-Ketan Constituency, Joe Ghartey for retaining the seat.
Mr Ghartey polled 24,701 votes out of 52,392 valid votes cast to beat his closest contender, Dr Grace Ayensu-Danquah of the National Democratic Congress who garnered 24,527votes.
The parliamentary candidate of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM) polled 629.
There was a spontaneous wild jubilation across the constituency when Mr Ghartey was declared the winner of the parliamentary race.
In a statement signed by its Acting Managing Director, Mr John Essel, the GRCL, said “We know you’ve worked hard to reach this point and we are so happy that you have been recognized by your constituents for your accomplishments. It is well deserved.”
