Bear Cub Spotted in Southeast St. Cloud Neighborhood
An officer with the St. Cloud police department says the cub was about one year old.
It was in the 1700 block of Woodland Road on Wednesday afternoon, which is east of Highway 10 and south of Highway 23 in east St. Cloud.
The neighborhood is very wooded and has a lot of wildlife including deer, wild turkeys, fox, and other animals. But, this could possibly the first time a bear has wondered though.
It didn t appear to be very scared of the people as he took his time walking through the neighborhood stopping for lunch at some backyard bird feeders.

HOLDEN Carrol “Bill” W. Bailey fought in the Battle of the Bulge during World War II and earned a Bronze Star. His wife, Betty Blunt Bailey, was a classically trained pianist who played with some of the most celebrated performers of the day. After the war, they settled down to a long and quiet life in Holden. Betty died in 1997 and Bill in 2013, but their memory lives on through two trusts, worth a total of $1.3 million, that recently passed to Holden’s Gale Free Library.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol, Fairfax Police Department and the Hamilton County OVI Task Force announced the checkpoint will be on Red Bank Road at Woodland Road from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m.OSP says the goal of the OVI checkpoint is to deter and intercept impaired drivers. The OVI checkpoint is funded by federal grant funds. OSP also says there will be saturation patrols nearby to aggressively combat alcohol-related injuries and fatal crashes.
