Sunseekers have flocked Queensland beaches this week despite a three day lockdown in the Sunshine State triggered after a hospital worker with Covid took a holiday to Magnetic Island.
Residents of south-east Queensland, Townsville, Magnetic Island and Palm Island are required to stay-at-home except for four essential reasons - and while outdoor exercise is allowed, sunbathing is not considered essential.
Pictures show from Wednesday show thousands of people gathering on Noosa beaches at the Sunshine Coast and on the Gold Coast s iconic esplanade and beaches, many camped out on beach towels or browsing shops.
