TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â The City of Midway has a new strategy to get more seniors in Gadsden county vaccinated.
Limited staffing and no sites to distribute the vaccinations are some of the reasons why city leaders in Midway had to re-think their plan to get seniors vaccinated.
The city is partnering with the Gadsden County Health Department to register seniors for the COVID-19 vaccine.
So far, the county has seen more than 600 COVID-19 cases in people 65 and up.
City Manager Linda Dilworth said many seniors in Midway don t have transportation to the vaccination sites in Quincy, so they came up with a door-to-door option.

QUINCY, Fla. (WTXL) â On Friday, Gadsden County Health Department officials announced new times for their no-appointment COVID-19 testing site.
The testing site, located at Capital Regional Medical Center s Gadsden Campus at 23186 Blue Star Hwy in Quincy, will now be open on Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
This site is for those who are asymptomatic or symptomatic, no appointments needed.
Those coming to be tested are asked to enter at the back of the hospital from Strong Road.
Face masks or coverings will be required upon arrival, Gadsden-DOH said.
